I think there’s a difference between God and religion.
I should like to repeat what I stated recently in the Jeddah Economic Forum in Saudi Arabia: It won’t be the religion but rather the world-view of some of its followers that shall be made current.
I never close a door on any other religion. Most of the time some part of it makes sense to me. I don’t believe everyone has to chant just because I chant. I believe all religion is about touching something inside of yourself.
I love it when the left and when the president say ‘Don’t try to impose your values on us you folks who hold your Bibles in your hand and cling to your guns.’ They have values too. Our values are based on religion based on life. Their values are based on a religion of self.
I know it’s very idealistic and utopian but I believe we need to just let everyone not be judged in terms of religion groups or nations or region.
I have a strong belief in God… I find religion to be a very personal thing… I am also very spiritual.
I have always said that often the religion you were born with becomes more important to you as you see the universality of truth.
I found enormous opposition to my religion. It’s like if you want to strengthen your biceps you lift heavy weight as heavy as you can handle and work your muscles against resistance until it grows strong. I had to do that with my religion.
I don’t think you need religion.
I don’t think we should proselytize a particular religion.
